While young people provide the world with a wonderful source of innovative energy, they can also be among the most vulnerable members of society. That’s why youth support services and quality educational opportunities are essential for building a better world for future generations.

As a starting point, we must ensure that children receive basic necessities like shelter, nutrition and protection from abuse. Numerous organisations carry out important work in this area. Centrepoint supports the approximately 86,000 young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the UK and the Childhood Trust works to alleviate the impact of child poverty.

However, it’s also important that all young people, regardless of their socio-economic background, are provided with the opportunity to achieve their full potential and become leaders in their lives and within society. Non-profit organisations like Youth Employment work to give young people a voice and empower them to be more prepared for the world of work. While others like Young Roots help young refugees and asylum-seekers achieve potential through fun and educational activities and trips.

There are hundreds of organisations working on these issues across the UK, we’ve included some of the top ones below.
