It's All About Material

by Julia Loewe, May 27, 2019

Veolia Germany initiated the U-START program in order to foster the cooperation with innovative startups in the fields of circular economy, climate protection and resource efficiency, and to reduce the time to enter the market with new concepts for a better world.

Go Circular! The excellent results of the three previous U-START calls have paved the way for launching the next call on circular economy together with EIT RawMaterials. Startups can apply here from April 1st to May 31st 2019.

The seventh U-START campaign is organized in partnership with EIT RawMaterials, the largest and strongest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Together, they aim at developping cooperation with early stage startups with sustainable business ideas in circular economy.

Since 2016, U-START has led 12 cooperation with startups, 7 startup calls with up to 5 startups accepted per call.

For this edition, Veolia is focusing on sustainable ideas in the following key topics:

  1. Innovative recycling concepts for electronic waste (PCB, Li-ion batteries etc.)
  2. Alternative upcycling valorisation routes for secondary products (Recycled paper, glass fibre composites, recycled carbon fibres etc.)
  3. New technologies for sorting and recycling composite materials (Mixed plastic products and metal-plastic composites)

Who is eligible?
