The Bertha Centre’s call for 2019 scholarship applications is now open! Each year this organization offers Bertha Scholarships to students from across Africa who would like to study at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business (GSB) - to complete either their MBA or Master of Philosophy in Inclusive Innovation. From now until October 31st, the Bertha Centre is looking for young changemakers, entrepreneurs, and social innovators to apply for the 2019 scholarship. Anyone actively involved in “the exploration of social, environmental and/or economic justice using innovative approaches” are encouraged to apply, as long as they meet these eligibility requirements:

  1. You meet the admission requirements of the university for your selected course of study.

  2. You are an African citizen or permanent resident.

  3. You are an entrepreneur who has started or worked with a social/green/entrepreneurial innovative idea that seeks social and/or economic change.

  4. You are an intrapreneur who has worked on advancing social justice and pioneering inclusive opportunities through social innovation within an organization.

  5. You demonstrate strong leadership qualities within your field.

By offering these full and partial scholarships, the Bertha Centre aims to enable scholars who otherwise might not have been able to attend the GSB due to financial circumstances. They recognize that an individual's economic status should not define whether they can or cannot become a changemaker in the community.

If you are interested in this incredible opportunity, you will need to submit both an application to your programme of interest at the GSB and the separate Bertha Scholarship Application. Please click the link below to transfer to the application process instructions posted on the GSB website.
