Transform Ageing

The UK is undergoing a demographic shift and improved life expectancy - one of the great triumphs of the 20th century - looks set to be one of the challenges of this one. We need bold and sustainable innovations, designed and led by people who have lived through the issues they are seeking to address.

That's why UnLtd and the Design Council have teamed up to launch Transform Ageing. This pioneering programme, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, aims to improve people’s experience of ageing in the south-west.  It brings together people in later life, social entrepreneurs and health and social care leaders to define, develop and deliver new solutions that better support the needs and aspirations of our ageing communities.

The initial call for applications for social entrepreneurs to respond to the programme's briefs with innovative product and service solutions is now open.  If you are motivated to make a difference and create social change in our society through entrepreneurial ideas and solutions, this programme is for you.

Selected entrepreneurs will receive dedicated support to develop their idea, including access to experts in a range of fields such as design, business, and finance. They will also be granted awards of up to £25,000 to help grow their venture.

Could you be the next innovator to transform ageing? Learn more about the programme and how to apply here.
